Your real dice, a live opponent
Dice Throne is a game of rolling, bluffing and timing, and it plays best with real dice in your hands. In Top Down Tabletop you point a top-down camera at your table and your opponent sees your board live, while the desktop app layers health and status trackers over the video so nobody has to keep score on paper. You bring your own hero boards, dice and cards. The software never replaces them.
Why players love Dice Throne
Every hero plays like a different game. One hero stacks status effects, another builds toward a single huge roll, and learning to read your opponent's hero is half the fun. Each turn mixes dice luck with real choices about which dice to keep, when to spend cards and when to hold back, so a bad roll rarely ends your chances. It is quick to teach, matches fit in a short session, and the swingy final turns make it a crowd-pleaser at any table.
Find a match fast
Open the desktop app and use Quick Match to be paired with another player, create a lobby and share it with a friend, or post in Looking for Group when you want a specific hero matchup. Matches played over webcam count toward your online record, so wins, losses and per-hero results build up on your profile as you play.
Hero codex, tier lists and hero selection
Dice Throne is the game with the deepest tooling here. The hero codex lists more than 40 heroes with their character details, and a community tier list with voting shows how players rate each one. Hero selection supports draft, pick and random modes, and tournament formats such as Bring 3, Ban 1 and Select-a-Hero are built in, so a bracket can run the way your group already plays.
Playing at the shop instead
Sitting across the table from your opponent? Open the web companion on your phone to track the match, report results and follow the bracket. Local Play results roll into the same profile and leaderboards, and organizers can run a Tournament: Local Play from a laptop or a phone with no camera and no install required.
Leaderboards and ratings
Every game keeps its own ELO rating and leaderboard, and online and shop results are tracked separately so each record means what it says. Your profile keeps per-hero stats, and achievements unlock for milestones such as games played, tournament results and events attended.
What you need to start
Bring your Dice Throne hero boards, cards and dice, a webcam you can mount above your play area, and the free Windows desktop app. Sign in with your account, create a lobby or take a Quick Match, and your opponent sees your table as soon as the match starts. Both players use their own copies, so there is nothing to buy inside the app.
